How are people enjoying paddleshifting on their 17 imprezas.

Apparently your not supposed to use the paddle shifters or cruise control for the first 1000 miles to allow the vehicle to break in?

That's cool. I've only got less than 200 miles left until I reach the 1000 mile mark so I'm looking forward for the break-in period to be done with so I can test out the paddle shifters. That's one of the main reasons I got this car for them.

Yes I am almost at mile marker myself . All back roads mostly and a few Hwy exits. It get excited when there is a hill ha ha.
How are you varying engine rpm ?
I was so tempted to use paddle.

Oops. Well, I certainly used them on the test drive and when doing some mountain/hill driving to help engine brake a bit. The Impreza's engine has like no engine braking, though, so its not super effective. It is really nice when you're planning to overtake somebody on the highway, though.

I have been so tempted also it's been hard stopping myself. Engine rpms vary depending on my mood lol but you gotta really put your foot down for the power & sound of the boxer engine to kick in.

I'm sure either way it's not gonna do damage to the engine or CVT so maybe tonight I will test it out & see how it goes. I'm sure going down big hills it'll come in handy or in the snow to slow down instead of using the brakes lol

I'm well past the 1k mile mark. I'm a little nervous about using them. Especially in traffic. If I down shift to slow down while in traffic I may get rear ended because my break light will not come on.
I live on Long Island and people drive like assholes and always tailgate. Even while doing 70 mph, they tail gate
