no, but i work about 30 minutes from it. you can't see much from the highway, but they usually have 2-3 cars parked on the main sign you see from the road. i'll be driving by it in 3 weeks. i'll try to take a picture if it looks like any imprezas are on display.

I did a short IT consulting project with my company back in Dec 2016/Jan 2017. I was on a
few webex calls with the IT guys at SIA in Layfayette IN - Subaru of Indiana Automotive.
Really nice people, I was not seriously considering a Subaru at that point, but working with
them made me seriously consider it. My coworker was there and got a full factory tour.
My coworker bought an Outback and me an Impreza out of that.

Interesting project - as the cars come down the assembly line, they put variable sized parts -
called "select parts" into the engines. Value shims, bearings, etc are sized to exact fit in the engines -
to give the tightest tolerances. So there may be 20 versions of a valve shim, microns in size difference
or variable sized main bearings, etc.

We were using advanced math algorithms to predict parts consumption based on a bunch
of different inputs so they could order needed parts without running out.

They produce 1500 cars a day there on 3 production lines. At max capacity as you can well imagine.
They stopped producing the Toyota Camry there to make room for the Impreza. Also Crosstrek
and Outback there I believe.

2017 Impreza Limited Hatch + EyeSight & Nav / Lapis Blue Pearl CVT
Replacement for: 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid Titanium
- bye bye - open safety recalls and all be gone !

that video brought back some memories! i used to work at a honda plant in ohio. the subaru guys have much better work clothes- we had to wear head-to-toe white polyester. we looked like milkmen! the cars moved a little quicker on the accord line if i recall.

it looks like the first one was a base model 5-door in blue(you can see the hubcaps). pretty cool!

I found that video on YouTube before I purchased my Impreza. Figured some might find it interesting to know where or how their car was built.

I'd like to go on a tour there if I make it to that area. I thought touring Peterbilt and Kenworth plants was cool and I bet SOA is more so.
