2018 Impreza Cabin Air Filter

Hello,
My dealer wants to charge $70 to replace my cabin air filter. I've gotten 2 filters on my own so far that don't fit. Has anyone found a place that sells the 2018 cabin air filter???

I bought a replacement cabin air filter from my dealer's parts department for $13...after the service dept quoted me $60 for parts/labor. Prior to that, I tried three different brand-name aftermarket stores and none of them fit - just as you're experiencing.

There's another recent thread about this very topic you should try and find. I think others had the same experience.

It cost me $12 and 2 minutes of my time to replace the cabin filter.
$70... LOL!!!
Just google the part number and you can buy it pretty much at any dealership. I think it's this part: 72880FL00A

Here's my post about it:

Seriously, the fact that a dealer would have the chutzpah to charge $70 for a 1-minute job is outrageous.

ORIGINAL POSTER: I would ask the service manager why he/she thinks that kind of charge is appropriate.

In related news... this week I purchased a set of wiper blades from a Subaru dealership and they wanted to install them. I said, "Yeah, riiiight, I think I can handle unclipping a wiper blade that takes all of 1 minute to replace!"

I had a similar situation with my 2017...with mine it boiled down to framed filter or non framed filter.

I bought a k&n washable cabin air filter and it fit loosely so I went to the dealer and they gave me the framed one (didn't fit) they said "opps you get the updated one" and gave me the non framed one that fit (just cardboard ends) I'm presuming the 2018 would follow the same idea.

Oh and k&n said they're filter fit loose due to the (electrostatic nature of the filter). I don't know about that...

Pictures are
1. Original dirty filter and k&n
2. The dealer style that didn't fit
