It looks wet and greasy, some kind of flat tape like cable on the left side of the engine. I just want to make sure I don’t end up with a big problem🥲

It is not easy to determine the source of the leak. Suspect either engine-oil or CV-joint grease.

The appropriate approach is to THOROUGHLY de-grease the engine bay so it is squeeky clean.

Then monitor the area to determine specifically where it is leaking.

I like to use "Oil Eater", scrub lightly with brush... then hose it off with garden-hose.

Good advice! I’m going to really struggle to get my hands in there but I should at least try so I can tell if this is new or not.

It looks like an oxidized copper ground wire to my eye. They turn green over time normally . I would guess someone coated it to prevent said oxidation , a leak looks more ...significant
