Does anyone know / have experience with 5th generation (2017) Impreza's front apron cross compatibility with the WRX's front apron? Are they interchangeable or is the WRX apron wider?

Prefer the surface development of the WRX apron; and, the original Impreza apron needs to be replaced.

Which part are you calling the apron? The current WRX is based on the 4th gen Impreza so it's unlikely to be a good fit on the 5th gen Impreza, but I don't know what you're specifically referring to.

Interesting.

The apron is the pretty plastic skin that goes over the front bumper / front end—or back bumper / back end.

It is my understanding that Gen5 is wider (heavier) than the Gen4 (narrower / lighter). The 2017 WRX appears to have wider quarter panel flares. So if in deed, the current WRX is a Gen4, then it would follow that the aprons would be cross compatible in terms of width.

Though this would be an opportunity for the engineers to mess with the mounting hardware.

The body color painted bumper cover bodywork? The current WRX part is not compatible with the 5th gen Impreza part.

Not compatible. 2017+ Impreza is on the 5th gen platform. WRX is still on the 4th gen platform.
