So, here at EBC Brakes We like to offer a free set of pads each month to a randomly selected forum member.

In past giveaways We have discussed our first cars, garage and storage spaces, famous people we have met or would like to have met and weird and wonderful vehicles amongst other topics.

We have been discussing amongst the EBC team music recently, and for the September pad (front or rear set) giveaway I would like to start a discussion about your desert island discs; If you were stranded on a desert island with only THREE records (and assuming a means to play them), what would you choose and why? Let us know the story behind your choice, if they have significant meaning to you or simply because its a killer song/album!

My choice would be;

The Beatles - The Yellow Submarine Soundtrack. Favourite song - Nowhere Man : I used to watch the cartoon-film with my Grandad when I was young, and although not an actual album, it has a sense of nostalgia for me.

Jimi Hendrix - Are You Experienced. Favourite song - Red House : Rock music was all I would listen to as a kid, and this would 100% get me through any hard times stranded on an island!

Jurassic 5 - Power in Numbers. Favourite song - What's Golden : One of the first hip-hop albums I ever listened to that really made me fall in love with the Genre.

The lucky winner will be randomly selected and announced within a few days after the closing date of 1st October 2021 and details will be posted on this forum within a few days of the closing date.

Please be aware that this thread may appear in more than one section on the forum and one winner will be selected from the whole forum, not a winner per thread.
Pad choice will be based on availability and where a chosen pad is unavailable, an alternative will be offered.

If you are not the lucky winner, remember EBC Brakes are pleased to be able to offer a 10% discount off their braking products to all members of the forum community using code FORUM10USER
This discount code can be redeemed at EBC Brakes Direct | EBC Brake Pads | EBC Brake Discs or with our USA partners at Perfect Brakes | EBC Brake Pads | EBC Rotors

Any questions or application issues please let us know.

GOOD LUCK………

3 albums i would take with me on a deserted island would be:
1] pitchshifter-www.pitchshifter.com. This album had me driving fast since I played test drive 5 on playstation. I still jam out to it today, especially subject to status

2] Digital underground- sons of the p. This is such an amazing album with epic 90s party vibes. The fact it was produced by parliament funkadelic definitely helps. Family of the underground is my favorite track.

3] Alice in chains- unplugged. There are no words to describe the perfection of this album through and through. The beginning of nutshell gets me every time.

1) Foo Fighters: The Colour and the Shape - Came out when I was in Junior High, and my first experience into post-grunge alternative. Some of the first songs I learned to play on guitar were from this album (My Hero & Everlong)

2) Anberlin: Cities - A solid album from beginning to end. The songs capture the range of the musicians. The ending track, (*Fin), is one of the best ways to end an album.

3)Thrice: Major/Minor - Another well done album that captures Thrice's ability to sound like many different sounds, and yet the same band all the while. Even though they've been around +/- 20 years, I've only recently dived deep into their music, and feel like I missed out over those years.

Led Zeppelin - IV. Favorite Song - Rock and Roll: My first Led Zeppelin album I ever heard. Of course Stairway is on it but to me Rock and Roll is the quintessential Rock and Roll song. Just straight up Rock and Energy! Walked into this song for my wedding. The whole album is awesome. You got the crazy beat for Black Dog, acoustic songs, fun songs and the down and dirty beat for When the Levee Breaks.

Tesla - Five Man Acoustical Jam. Favorite Song - Love Song: I forget the first time I actually heard this album but I was hooked after hearing it. For the longest time I would listen to this album every road trip and I would always start with this.

Bon Jovi - Slippery When Wet. Favorite Song - Wanted Dead or Alive : One of if not the first albums I ever purchased. Just a great mix of songs. Great melodies, rockin licks, great vocals and very musical.
