Does anyone have a link or the actual firmware update for the 2017 base HU. I’ve been up and down looking and nothing. Going to the dealership is not an option. Thanks.

Updates happen sporadically. I have my car set to update automatically when parked in the driveway. It's been more than 6 months since the last update.
There’s no auto update on mine. Has to be done with flash drive. Can you tell me what version yours is
Yours is the same as mine. All you have to do is connect to your router, or to your smart phone.
I don’t have an option to connect to Wi-Fi. Just Bluetooth or CarPlay
Dealership is not an option. Truly don’t understand why getting a firmware file is so hard.
I have NEVER seen a firmware file located and available for download for our cars. All mine have come over wifi for my Impreza. As for my Legacy, it has never gotten an update over wifi. The only updates I got were downloaded and installed via USB but it also included the GPS maps update that I have in the Legacy.

Its hard because while most of the head units looks the same, they have multiple firmware versions depending on the trim level of the car. The general public will likely not know which one to download and install (3 different firmware files for the Impreza alone). Over-the-air updates are not as frequent and often times won't give you what you're looking for and are only compatible for firmware version Rul_U0.18.22.20 or higher.

If you have a smart phone, you can use a hotspot to look for updates if no Wifi is available from your home.

Is there a specific reason why the dealer is not an option? Are you out of warranty? Don't trust them? Not close to one?
Deal is not an option, because my only day off is Sunday’s and being without a car is not an option. People keep saying over the air updates. This radio has never had an option to get updates over the air. Nothing in the menus shows that
I don’t believe that my Premium trim level has the option of WiFi either. I had to go to the dealer for my last update.
In the past, with a different Subaru, I was able to get the CD-ROM disk from the dealer to do a firmware update. Basically you put the disk in the head unit to update for firmware. Depends on your relationship with the dealer. I live about 2 mile from mine and I've gotten a lot of Subarus from them. They trusted me with the disk. If you know the model maybe you can find the firmware for the unit on the site and make a disk, just a thought.
Hey all. I have firmware rel4.18.11.50. I just got this car a few months ago. 19 Impreza hatch premium. My presets keep going away. Seems like an old bug. Any idea how old this firmware is our how they do the software version number scheme? I thought buying a cpo would mean the firmware is up to date? Any advice appreciate.

Hopefully this picture might help a little. If you get me the information of what radio you have I’ll try to point you in the right direction for the firmware file.

You have the original firmware and there is room to update that may help with your issues.

I don’t have my Impreza near to check, but I know I had the same issues with presets and the last firmware update fixed my issues. Sorry I don’t know the update version as my car is in the body shop this week.

SOA releases an updated TSB when new Harman files are available. The latest file versions are listed on page 4 or 5. The TSBs can be found on the NHTSA site.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I have obtained and installed the newest update via USB. It definitely fixed a few issues I was experiencing and was a relatively painless process. Turns out, this was the original firmware on the car. I thought CPO meant updating it among the list of other checks. Just another strike against this dealership with this purchase. Oh well. I'm just glad I'm updated now without having to take it in.

Ironically, now Android auto attenuates even without a notification. Normally I love when the music lowers for a notification but now that it does it randomly without a notification it's a bit of a boy-who-cried-wolf situation. Probably AA issue.
