Hi,

The manual basically says to ask the dealer.
Nav has an option to update but it only shows a code (presumably to download the updates).

Is it really still that complex especially given the car is connected to WiFi and should be able to download it automatically?

While on the subject, what is the WiFi even used for?

I didn't bother to read the instructions to install these once available.

Subaru map updates

Nobody really seems to know what the Wifi is for. My inclination is that this
is there to support future functionality. I'd leave it off to prevent the scare
of car hacking until we know it better. Kind of annoying.

Nothing I can tell uses the Wifi at this point in time. Anybody know
otherwise?

It's used for nothing at all that I can tell.

No updates will come over Wifi - at this point in time - that may change in the future. Any update for the headunit/radio is via USB load. Map updates also over USB once available.
