I've been trying to convince myself to get a new exhaust but with my car being a CVT it doesn't seem like I'll be completely pleased with the large purchase. Does anyone have a good idea for me? Im not looking to turn heads I'd just like some more feedback/sound while driving

I'm not sure if the CVT tuning is different for other trims, but for the sport, it mimics shifting pretty well, so at least you wont sound like a moped or snowmobile when accelerating like other CVT's. If you want the genuine subie rumble, you'll have to splurge on some UEL headers (roughly $900.) These alone wont change the volume much, if at all, but they'll drastically change the tone from commuter car to rally car. I'd keep the cats and resonator as they are - this will eliminate unwanted drone and rasp. From there, any muffler shop could hook you up with an axleback setup using a muffler of your choosing, allowing for the specific volume you're looking for. Alternatively, there are a couple "off-the-shelf" axleback options that you can bolt on right at home. The nameless 5" is popular in that category.

I've gotten exhaust and mid pipes and would say that if you want a rumble the least annoying most authentic sound without droning is going to be from UEL headers. Ours come stock with equal length which is why we don't get that same raspy staccato rumble that the Wrx gets. Exhaust just makes the shitty stock sound louder. Which isn't bad but it gets old. You can tell just based on how many people sell their Nameless exhaust after a year or so with them.

Far too many people order the muffler delete from nameless than the 5" or even larger 10" mufflers. I've had my 10" on the car for over a year now, and have been more than happy enough with it.

UEL is the way to go - @eyepreza on intsagram if you want to hear a full exhuast setup with uel headers.

I have a Borla S-type muffler that I'm trying to sell. Sounds like exactly what you are looking for. It has nice pops during engine braking and its just loud enough for you to hear it without droning. I'm a Jersey resident if you are on the east coast. I only had it on for about 3 months. You just need to get a new gasket, use your old one and use your bolts. I have the bolts too if you need them. I'm looking to sell this for $300, but am willing to negotiate. Let me know!

Mines tuned that’s why the pops. The nameless was too loud for me that’s why I switched out!
Makes sense. I like the nameless. It is a bit loud even with the 5 inch muffler version. I do have a throttle controller and set it to sport mode and that actually seems to make the muffler not as low toned and bit more tolerable.

That’s something I would have done, I took one road-trip and the highway drone made me sell it immediately. Sounded awesome around the city though!
