In my quest for custom switches I've given up on aftermarket and just made my own.

Cable Electrical wiring Gas Auto part Electric blue

Steering part Steering wheel Finger Motor vehicle Vehicle door

OEM switches cost too much and its a hassle to source them and figure out which pin is what. I tried 3d printed switch from SMK Fabrication and it just wouldn't sit in place the way OEM plug does.

Tools:
Procedure:
  1. Slice the rear cover off from the plug with the saw tip
  2. use the tipped stone tool to hollow out the inside (protect eyes)
  3. drill in the center until the switch pokes through
  4. Make harness ends and put switch into plug

I've done switches like these for 40+ years, although it used to be easier when there was a Radio Shack in my area. Through the years, I've also learned to NEVER trust a crimp-connector; ALWAYS solder your connections!

A properly crimped connection actually creates a "cold weld". The metal actually solidifies as if it was welded. Most folks do not use the proper tools to make this happen.

I too also solder my crimped connections... but beware that if the solder wicks up underneath the wire insulation, this creates a brittle area. Proper strain-relief is a good idea.
