NEED AN EXHAUST FOR 17 IMPREZA SEDAN

I need an exhaust for my 17 Impreza sedan. I pretty much only see the nameless options, the 5” muffler and delete. If anyone has one for sale please respond below. As a side note, if anyone has either and wants to give their opinions or suggestions please respond. Looking for a loud sound but also a good sound. Thank you everyone.

Do you have an impreza sport or a manual option?

It is the limited cvt.
It is the limited cvt.
Downside with not having a sport CVT or manual transmission is you can’t control the RPMs to make an axleback worth it. Since the CVT will kinda sit a one RPM and not really shift, you’ll have this really low annoying tone come out of the axleback, that gets annoying since you can’t really take advantage of it like you would when you shift or “simulated shift” in the sports. I’ll try to find the thread I discussed it before.

I do have paddle shifters, like the sport models. I can “simulate the shift” if that is what you are talking about. Let me know ? Thank you for responding!

Oh the limiteds come with it? I didn’t know that. Yeah then you should be good. Here is the thread (Bad Cabin Drone/Vibration with Nameless) and people without the paddles/regular CVT have bad cabin drone since it’ll sit around 1.5-2k rpm. If you have paddles it’ll be WAY more enjoyable, I can attest to that 👌🏻

Thank you! Which exhaust do you have? The 5” or delete? What do you think about it?

I actually just posed in another thread about this lol here is a vid comparing other axlebacks on a cross trek, but for the purpose of examples it’s good enough and pretty accurate for being a video (
)

the nameless performance would be the muffler delete and regular nameless is the 5” I believe. Compare it to the Borla one and you’ll see that nameless has a cleaner tone to it and it’s still pretty deep. I have the 5” and like it more. I also live in MA and don’t want inspections to tell me I need a muffler lol

I have a 5MT Sport with an installed Nameless 10" exhaust - got it from another fellow member though. Tech Advisor at the dealer when I took 'er in for a tire rotation liked the exhaust and asked me about it. Not too loud compared to the performance or 5" exhaust but still has a nice sound about it.

It definitely is loud on cold start (at least my personal opinion) that I'm sure my neighbors hear it each morning.

I agree the cold start is loud regardless of what you get, but luckily mellows out
I purchased the Borla and have been very happy with it. Adds some throatiness without bring obnoxious outside the cabin or inside, except on cold start. Makes the car sound more alive in the 2500-4000 rpm range. No drone.
I have an AFE muffler delete if you want your car loud. Sounds tough and meaty though your neighbors might not like you…….
I use afe takjeda midpipe+muffler and am very happy with this. much better than borla I had or borla + nameless midpipe combo I tried.

Have a link for the mid pipe? And was it for hatch or sedan?

The Limited has the fake shifting paddles as well. I had two different nameless exhausts, the single with a muffler and then the quad with mufflers. I started driving Uber a lot more so I put the stock muffler on to be less irritating to passengers.
It was fun and sounded good while paddle shifting, but a little droning while in normal drive mode.

AFE 49-36803

It says it is for crosstrek but fits impreza hatch perfectly. Look around find it cheaper, not everyone selling it charges tax.

If you want to check it out, not many people talk about the Syms Exhaust. I've replaced the entire exhaust now. Cold starts are LOUD though, around 100 db's doing 45 degree angle 12" test that the state refs would do. I Dont sit and warm it up as a result cause I already feel bad enough for my neighbors. Once the car is warm, it's very noticable. I defiantly get a lot more attention.
