Greetings,

I just picked up a new 2023 Impreza Wagon Base 5-speed in Crimson Red. This will be my new daily driver replacing a well-used 2003 Outback who's transmission died just short of 200K miles.

I also own a 2000 Impreza 2.5RS Coupe which is WRX/STI swapped. I maintain a member journal on RS25.com, link is in my sig for anyone interested. Now for some pics!

same color as mine and same good old fashioned 5 speed stick. You'll be happy.

Beautiful.
Looks great! I also got a base model recently, but with a CVT. So many people here with manuals, I feel like I'm in the minority with my CVT. :)
Thanks all for the replies. Since my project car is heavy on performance mods, I think I'm going to focus on comfort and quality of life upgrades for this wagon.

hello
Great car my friend. That is wise of you to keep any upgrades on a comfort and quality of life reasons. I currently own a 2017 Sport Hatch with 5speed and it's pretty much bone stock. The only things I have done were for visual esthetics only. I installed a GrimSpeed weighted shift knob bare stainless steel. It's weighted at 1 pound and really helps smooth out the shifting to provide very buttery smooth shifts. I also installed myself the Rally Armor Red mudflaps. They really protect the sides of the car from anything the tires might pick up. I also bought a set of pre-owned Sparco Pro Corsa wheels with Dunlop Sport Maxx RT tires. They are great and the tires provided high end grip. As of now they just sitting in storage as I wait to get new tires. Lastly I applied a Save the Manuals vinyl sticker on the rear window. That's all I have done and most likely will be it for now. Debating on getting BR Racing coilovers one day.
So yeah enjoy your new Impreza and keep us all updated on any adventures or upgrades you make alone the way.

I really like leather or wood shift knobs, and think the Sport shift knob feels great in the hand, though I haven't been able to compare with the urethane base shifter. Welcome to the forum!
