Anyone else have to get a wheel bearing replaced? I started hearing a noise around 4500 miles and took it to my dealership. At that point it wasn't loud enough to diagnose, so they told me to bring it back when it got louder. I took it back last week and they said it is the wheel bearing and ordered a new front axle assembly. All covered under warranty of course. Just curious to see if anyone else has experienced this problem.

Holy sh** that's insane, but glad you got taken care of. I haven't had this issue, yet. Hopefully it's a once off, like the owner who had to replace the fuel pump in their brand new Impreza a few months ago.

Not sure about the axle assembly having wheel bearings, they are in the hubs of the front wheel drive
cars I have owned. The longer axle in some cars have a support bearing. Maybe a Subaru axle
assembly includes the hub?

Has anyone heard it come from the Rear? I see some discussions about the front wheel bearings.
But, my wifes 2019 Coupe has it coming from the passenger side rear 25mph and above it get's louder the faster you go.

Just had a second rear wheel bearing replaced - just under warranty - at 40000 miles. First one went within the first year of driving. Noise began around 35MPH.
Yeah, it's about 25mph+ coming from passenger rear. Wife said something after she got home yesterday, I took it for a spin and told her it sounded like a wheel bearing.
Hopefully they can get it taken care of quickly. Dealership moved quite a bit away.

Nearly every vehicle I have ever owned has needed a wheel-bearing or two over its lifespan. (over 40 years of driving)

Newer cars, computer-designed to maximize efficency, have low-rolling-resistance bearings which may not last as long one may expect.

There's a TSB for the rear wheel bearings: MC-10185064-0001.pdf (nhtsa.gov)
All wheel bearings are covered under the 5yr, 60k mi powertrain warranty.

I have a 2017 Impreza. Had to have rear wheel bearings replaced at 50,000 under warranty. NOW at 85,000 the bearings again have to be replaced on my dime. Everything is still factory and most of the miles are highway with no heavy loads. I am going to order MOOG bearings with the hope that a better quality bearing will last longer.
