I know this is a very late reply and I'm not sure if you ever got an answer, but ATEQ does now support our cars.

 

Our 2017+ Impreza's are not listed as supported by the ATEQ Quickset device on the ATEQ website as of 7/7/2019. The last update was dated August 2018 and I'm hoping they will see fit to support Subaru.

 

I used my ATEQ on my 2018 a couple of weeks ago. I had to update the software and the library. Not sure why the website doesn't list it.

I just put a new set of tires on my Impreza and the shop did a horrible job all tires were different PSI. But this led to a discovery. I knew the TPMS system would re-scan the wheels after 20mph. So when I noticed this I was really upset but the TPMS also repositioned all the sensors to the correct positions on the car. So NO tool needed. At least this was my experience.

Also the system alert went off due to the PSI on the drive front 51 PSI. This was due to the pressure being greater than 51 PSI. 51 PSI is the sensor limit. The tire's pressure was actually 68 PSI, when I measured it with my meter. This tire was reading on the driver rear initial but then changed to driver front.

 

That's the last time I'd have that shop touch my car.

My '19 Imp is the first car I've ever had with individual readout for tire pressure. I love it... but it's been a trip getting the tire pressures where I want them. It must have taken 6 or 7 attemps before I am mostly satisfied, and even at that there's some mystery left.

I bought a new digital gauge/filler which is vastly more accurate than the ones I've relied on all these many years, good accurate dial types, but limited to 1 psi resolution. With those my readouts were all over the place. The digital gauge, after several attempts at setting the presssures precisely showed that the TPMS units read .3 psi higher so after factoring that in I was able to give my OCD a rest. But then I learned about the effects driving made, and how the fronts gain more than the rears after driving, and how even different driving affects psis. One more thing to obsess about... but I love having it anyway.

I still do my walkarounds regardless. Trust but verify.

 

Hi guys. I just purchased a winter tire/wheel/tpms sensor package from Tirerack. It sounds like the tool you are discussing is the way to go. Just wondering if any of you also purchased a package from Tirerack and were able to get everything working without too much trouble. Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks.

 

I did not purchase my set on Tire Rack. I pieced mine together. The wheels, tires, and sensors all came from different vendors. I don't think any package from Tirerack would require anything special.

 

New software for winter 2020 - 2021. A new PC and a new download brought some computer adventures today. ATEQ had updated both the PC software and the Quickset software.

It looks like I can use 2017 Impreza in the vehicle parameter now rather than the odd ball one from the earlier patch ups. In their instructions they missed a step however - which led to a long afternoon and a wish that I had just mothballed the old PC. Remember to run the UPDATE program option on your first run of the ATQuickset software. If you don't you wind up with a mismatched set of stuff that won't work and doesn't really describe what is wrong. Stay safe this winter.

This fix seems so simple that it may not work for everyone. I have a 2018 WRX and purchased an ATEQ VT37 but could not get it to read the sensors on my car.

I called ATEQ and the representative recommended that I put the VT37 against the rubber sidewall of the tire, below the Schrader valve/ air stem. This technique worked to read the sensor data immediately and has worked every time since.
