Car is giving a solenoid issue code, but car drives perfectly. Issue started on 143k-km, and I am almost 150k-km and car drives well. All features, including AWD, have been disabled due to this issue. What OBD2 Scanner is there that’s known to be a Subaru whisperer which I can use to effectively clear the codes and access car’s settings?

I have one from BAFX, with the ActiveOBD app it works for simple codes. If you want complete control of the car you can get a openport (even the aliexpress copies work for simple diagnosis) + SSM4, but that requires more technical knowledge (working with virtual machines, different drivers, etc)
P1604 + P1603 are these simple codes erasable by BAFX or OpenPort? Also what OBD2 protocol does our car have? Is it CAN?

If it is a 'transient error' (that is, an erroneous code from 1 glitch), it will disappear after a certain number of re-starts. If it doesn't, it's still an active code, and anything that deletes it will just re-appear the next time you drive it.

Chances are if AWD is disabled (and your have the CVT), then it's an activation solenoid to the viscous coupling in the transmission. If the solenoid is external and you can find it and reach it, just buying a replacement might work. Otherwise, it's "mechanic time"....
Thanks Alex,

How to fix the Activation Solenoid Viscous Coupling? By cleaning like my mechanic suggested? And how about a whole new body valve? Would that resolve the whole problem?

Is the problem a bad electrical connection, or a mechanical one? Start with cleaning the contacts, then clear the codes. What's the price on a valve body assembly, and is it easily changed?
They said -according to the OBD reading- it’s solenoid sensor (C) that has to do with oil pressure as per their words. A new body valve costs $750.

I’ll replace the oil filter, clean the solenoid, and clear the codes and see if it comes back in which case I’ll just install the new BV. I feel hesitant about installing the new BV before hitting 200k km which is when I’m going to rebuild the transmission and replace the inner CVT filter.
