Washer nozzle adjustment

So, on the weekend I won the battle against the warping windshield cowl panel (going to try and find some time to post about that too).
Unfortunately, now my washer nozzles are now out of alignment so I have to find some time to do that too now sigh.

I've never done before so I looked online to see if people had a guide on how to do it, but I kept coming across people saying either "just stick something inside to adjust it" or "absolutely do not stick something inside because it can break/deform it".
So I figured "there's probably a section in the service manual about this, I'd better check" and there is.
Turns out that Subaru has a whole process/diagrams for this and even has instructions on how to make a special tool to do it (apparently the "it'll warp the nozzle" crew were right?).

Anyways I figured I would share this here in case anyone else wants to see how Subaru says to do it:

The diagram and explanation is a little confusing to me, but seems easy enough to just aim the nozzle roughly inside the grey areas.

and here's the diagram of how to make the "washer nozzle adjustment jig":

I used the OEM tool to adjust my washer nozzles today and I have some thoughts for anyone interested.

I don't think this tool is actually necessary.
Don't get me wrong it does work, but the little 1mm "tips" don't seem to do anything.
I thought maybe this was some new design where the "tips" go into like a "lock hole" in the nozzle to allow it to adjust and locked otherwise.
I don't think this is the case and I basically made some glorified tweezers.

Definitely only adjust the nozzles from top and bottom slots like OEM recommends, but I think you could just use the right kind of tweezers or something else.

Just went out and bought a $3 wiper at princess auto and made up this tool in about 20 minutes while watching YouTube. Super easy.

Will update if it works well. Curious if this is required because there is some sort of locking mechanism to the nozzle that needs the thin pointed ends to go in and unlock to be moved. Would be cool if so to stop it moving on its own.
