Wiper blades; Updated 2023

So, back when I bought my Impreza back in 2019, the wiper blades we needed were almost uniquely for Subarus and (I think) BMW's. Choice was limited, and some manufacturers had just started offering adapters for us, but stock was slow to filter in, and sometimes you could order a pair of blades which were supposed to fit, only to find that 1 did, and 1 did not. So, as a result, I ended up sticking with only 2 options: Subaru dealer stock, and Trico Exact Fit blades, neither of which are really very good. The last set of dealer blades seem to have hardened (probably from sitting in a non-climate-controlled warehouse for a couple of years), and Tricos, like all Tricos for about the last century are kinda cheap and wear out fast.

So, once again, I'm looking for a DECENT pair of blades. Bosch Icons were my blade of choice for years, but it seems my local auto parts store only replaces their wiper blade fitment book about once every decade, so I don't know if Bosch has FINALLY made adapters to fit our cars yet? What other HIGH QUALITY blades are out there which I can reasonably expect will fit my car, aside from really old stock?

I saw on Tirerack that the PIAA wipers are compatible. I have used PIAA blades before and I REALLY REALLY like them. Seem to work well and last a long time. Long story short, I had them on my Pathfinder (the regular not the SI-TECH). A "person" was "supposedly" working on it but really wasn't. The car sat for at least 11 months the last time he had it, not including the 6 months for the first repair and 3 months for the lift kit that he had it two other times. It sat out in the sun and freezing cold. When I finally got it back, the blades worked until I finally dropped off at the junkyeard in 2011. I think I put those blades on back in maybe 2004 or 2005. Thanks for the link. If I can't get the PIAA when I am ready to replace, I'll look at these. I have PIAAs for my Legacy waiting. I bought them to replace a torn blade but then I remembered I had the 3 year wear warranty and got new ones at the dealer. They are just sitting in the box after using them for a few days.

If you had used [SEARCH] function, you would have found your answer.

BOSCH Envision fits and works well... but costs more than Subaru brand at the dealership.

I you were to visit website for your local autoparts store.... you should find several in-stock wiper-blades which should fit your Impreza.

EDIT: Apparently, the BOSCH Envision which fits our Impreza are exclusive to AutoZone stores..... hence, KEEP THE ADAPTERS which come with them so they can be reused.

Offerings for direct replacement wiper blades have gotten much better over the years...more brands and options now than when these cars were new in 2017.

I appreciate an updated/new thread on any subject here. Keeps the info current and relevant to new owners.

FWIW, my blades are some BOSCH variety. Bought them at the local parts store and they fit perfect. I replace mine every fall. I was leery of ordering online, just in case I got one that fit and one that doesn't like the OP had. I do buy many other things online for convenience, however.

I will go with Bosch Envision 100% of the time. They fit perfectly with no needed for any adjustments. Just use the adapter that's made for the Subaru hook up and it clips right in no issues. I have had the same Bosch Envision blades on the front for just over a year with no signs of wear. Also I also Rain-X or it's equivalent Peaks windshield wiper fluid that's designed to make the water bead up and roll off the glass. This makes wiping so much easier and in turn requires less use of the wipers. Also depending on the outside light conditions I am able to have the wipers off completely and just use the natural air flow to push the water off the glass and it works amazingly well. I highly recommend Rain-X or Peaks washer fluid.

Hey, I have a '21 and the stock front blades are starting to seperate.
I was looking in to these blades based on your recommendation and it says they don't fit my car on the bosch website.
from the wording of your post, it sounds like you are using some adapter.
Where can i get one of these?
or am I wrong and Bosch provides one or something?
sorry for the ignorance

You know what I just picked up a stock 16" blade and it appears Subaru changed the rubber design. PIAA on the top Stock on the bottom. So yeah maybe the Si blades won't fit these new Subaru Blades. I know my 2017 stock ones the PIAA Si blades rubbers fit.
